For those of you who are wondering, Blackmoore will NOT be a continuation of Edenbrooke. It is set in the same time period, in England, and it will share a few minor characters, but it has a whole new setting and a new hero and heroine and a great new love story. I think you can hope to see it out late next summer. I'm hustling to get it done by December.
But, honestly, it is no great punishment to spend time with Henry, who is giving Sir Philip Wyndham a run for his money, even if he doesn't have a title or a grand estate. And just so you understand how much fun I'm having, I'll share a little bit of my imagination. This is my inspiration for Henry, straight from the Olympic waters:
(I like to make you scroll.)
(To keep it a surprise.)
(By the way, I am happily married. I love my husband. I'm sure you understand.)

Blackmoore! Yay, a new novel! I CANNOT wait!
ReplyDeleteI just read Edenbrooke the other day. Seriously, it only took me a day because it was so amazing I COULD NOT put it down! (although I'm sure my kids felt a little neglected) And I was only supposed to read half way before our little girl's night/book club with my girlfriends. I loved it so much I had to finish it. And you know what? Later that night, I opened it up and started it over again. I think I might put it down for a little while so it will be more fresh and new the next time I read it, like reading it for the first time...maybe next month will do.
Is the book signing over?? I'll be in Utah this weekend for a wedding and was hoping it was still going. Darn :*(
I have to say I am a little surprised that you don't have more followers of your blog. I expected thousands! Your book was sold out of several bookstores in the valley (Mesa, Arizona, where I live), and I got the very last copy at Seagull. So many people have been talking about it with friends, online, and on goodreads. And no worries, I'm going to recommend it to everyone :)
Now, could I please ask a favor? Would you put up a list of your favorite books to tide me (and I'm sure all the rest of your fans) over until Blackmoore comes out? Also, do you listen to any music while you write? What is it?
Thank you for Edenbrooke. It was beautiful, and I felt so connected to Marianne in so many ways. Good luck with Blackmoore! I am so excited!

ReplyDeleteHi Julianne! Just popping over from Goodreads, desperate for any and all information on Blackmoore (a.k.a. anything else written by you)! I bought Edenbrooke last night and finished it early this morning. It blew me away! It hurts a bit to say this, but Philip > Mr. Darcy. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for writing such a fun and fantastic story!
Love Edenbrooke! Love your inspiration for Henry! ;) Can't wait for Blackmoore!
