First of all, I have to apologize for failing to reply to everyone's awesome comments. I love you all. But I am so stinkin' busy I can't believe it. I've been getting ready to leave for England in a week, and at the same time I've been getting everything ready for my blog tour, which starts the day I leave. Not to mention the fact that I'm writing my next book. And I have four kids. And a dog who runs out the door at every opportunity.
So...I'm a little busy. In fact, life has gotten so crazy that I will have to put the giveaway on pause for the next two weeks, because I can't be mailing stuff while I'm across the pond, darlings.
But there is a randomly selected winner for this week's giveaway, and it is Kristin, who made some insightful comments on the music in the book trailer. Congratulations, Kristin!
(Also, Kristin is a neighbor of mine who brought me some turkey burgers the other day because her family didn't like them. We eat ground turkey all the time, so I told her we would take them and thank you very much! So we cooked them up, and they were ca-ca. They were so disgusting, I couldn't even force myself to eat them. Even with tons of onions and catchup (or ketsup, however you spell it.) Now, let me be clear that this was NOT Kristin's fault. At all. That was just a raunchy, disgusting turkey that they mushed up into those patties. So, Kristin, I hope that experience does not turn you off from ever trying ground turkey again. Really, it's usually just fine.)
But what about the giveaway, you say? Just because I can't do a giveaway here, doesn't mean you're out of luck. There are lots of giveaways going on. You can enter the Goodreads giveaway here, or my friend Peggy's giveaway here. Next week, on the 19th, we will start the blog tour, and every day you will have a chance to read something totally fascinating about me or Edenbrooke on another blog, and then enter to win a free ARC from them. So many opportunities! (And if all else fails, it is only $15.99 and Amazon delivers.)
I will also be posting amazing photos and vlogging while I'm in England, so you can live vicariously through me! Am I not a generous friend?
Now, for something fun for this week, I thought I would share with you some of the photos I took on my last trip to England. (Those of you who have read Edenbrooke will recognize some of the settings from the story.) Happy viewing! And you can still comment here, by the way, to make me feel loved. :)
So beautiful!! I have always wanted to go to England. I don't think I would come back:)
ReplyDeletegorgeous.
ReplyDeletethe ca ca comment make me spit out my water.
i'm still laughing.
xo
Yipppeeee!! I am SO excited that I won the contest and now get a copy of your book!! Hooray!! And Julie - I cannot stop laughing out loud because of those turkey burgers! And you know how loud I laugh!! I'm SO sorry you had to suffer just as much as we did eating those disgusting things! I can't stop laughing because it keeps bringing me back to that night we ate them, and how I could hardly stand to eat my dinner (and I am FAR from picky with food - except what I have to picky with because of gluten - and you know about that!) I could taste that gross turkey the rest of that evening. I'm still not sure I can really ever give ground turkey meat another try. How sad that your family also had to try to eat some ca ca food! But on a happier note, hooray that I get to read your book now!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ground turkey! We use it instead of ground hamburger almost all the time!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are AMAZING. I'm so excited for you that you get to go back!
We only use ground turkey, but I ate two of those turkey burgers and even I thought they were gross. Why did I eat two of them? I hate to waste food.
ReplyDeleteI just tried a fish sandwich from Wendy's for lunch, and I am regretting it. Now you are talkin about foul fowl? I can't take it. But lovely photos! :)
